Some baby steps in Calshot Hampshire

Before our first big adventure I needed some driving practice. Also the kitchen needed a little testing out as well....

Firstly some proper British liquid sunshine. But what do those 'vanlifers' do on a day like today? There is only so much space inside the van and you have to be like Tom Bombadil and Goldberry to not be banging in to each other all the time

or looking at Suzie from a different angle. Note to self, always have the sliding side door on the side away from the wind. We were lucky and got it right without trying.

They're the miserable looking white blobs on the ground.

It did give us an excuse to try out the kitchen. First warmed up some soup then boiled the kettle but the kettle took 25 minutes - that needs to be looked into as that is far, far too long a time to wait.

But not everyone was complaining about the weather. Outside where 2 kite surfers and the ferries seemed to be running as normal.

Her ladyship was so happy with the diesel heater that she settled down to plan more tasks
